I am a teacher who helps students develop a closer understanding of how music, their instrument, and their interests grow together. Over the past 6 years, I have taught across Sydney, and across all age groups. Currently, I teach a number students and ensembles both through schools and privately. With a speciality as a jazz and contemporary guitarist, I also highly encourage students to explore a broad range of musical styles & techniques.

In lessons I work directly with students to develop goals and practice routines that will allow them to achieve their own musical aspirations. As a qualified secondary music teacher, I draw upon a wide range of musical experiences to help students develop their musicality beyond instrumental ability alone. This is particularly important for me working as a coach (or accompanist) for in both secondary and tertiary examinations.

Some core areas where I aim to help students develop are:

  • Instrumental technique

  • Improvisation

  • Reading Skills

  • Composition & Arranging

  • Music theory

  • Aural Skills

I am available for private lessons at a rate of $70 per hour in my home studio in Roseville, in Sydney’s North Shore, or Via Skype. Lessons through schools are at the rate set by each school.
