Formed in 2016, Brady//Donkin//Phipps explore the air that exists between 10 strings and a set of drums. Allowing each of their voices to weave in and out of the fore, they are bound by melodies that hang above a deep groove. Drawing on a background in indie rock, free improvisation, and modern jazz, this trio’s playing finds a voice that is above all sincere, personal, and in the moment.

Since forming Brady//Donkin//Phipps have worked with Sandy Evans, Brendan Clarke, and  Alex Francouer (Montreal), while also performing alongside Sydney contemporary jazz groups Anoesis, The Butchers, and the Wireless. Having spent the past two years performing in some of Sydney’s leading spaces for new improvised music, the trio is gearing up to make 2019 year of gigs, new collaborations, and new music.
